"A phenotype is an organism's observable characteristics or traits: such as its morphology, development, biochemical or physiological properties, behavior, and products of behavior (such as a bird's nest). Phenotypes result from the expression of an organism's genes as well as the influence of environmental factors and the interactions between the two."
Kundalini is advanced evolutionary biology, in that it changes an individual's phenotype characteristics during a single lifetime. But since "Individual organisms do not evolve, they retain the same genes throughout their life" how is it possible to claim that Kundalini affects evolution?
"Populations evolve. [evolution: a change in the gene pool] In order to understand evolution, it is necessary to view populations as a collection of individuals, each harboring a different set of traits." So if populations, but not individuals evolve, yet Kundalini affects Phenotype, why can't we say Kundalini influences Evolution, especially at this moment in history when so many people are struggling to, or have already, awaken(ed) Kundalini? If Kundalini can modify phenotype, will the Kundalini revolution not create a gene pool variation capable of influencing natural selection. We may not be able to quantify or analyze it today, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening. We are speeding up evolution because Kundalini affects brain chemistry, and brain chemistry affects phenotype.
Then again, if it we were only talking about one, or several hundred, individual(s), it might be different, but the hundreds of thousands now practicing Kundalini are bound to produce genetic modifications and pass those modifications onto their progeny, thus creating suitable conditions for natural selection. We may not see it now just as we failed in the past to perceive the totality of human biology, just as we do not yet understand its aggregate nature now.
For centuries, man explored the body, gradually learning about its various sub-systems: Respiratory System, Cardiovascular System, Skeletal System, Digestive System, Muscular System, etc. The more physically "obvious to the naked eye" the sub-system, the more visible it was, the easier it was to locate. The Lymphatic and Endocrine Systems were less visible, therefore, they were "discovered" relatively recently. That doesn't mean they weren't there all along. Kundalini is an evolutionary actuality, a biological reality present in every living body. It belongs to an even more "invisible" sub-system, known as Chakras, or energy centers.
Authors like Gary Osborn describe the Chakras as "metaphysical counterparts to the endocrine glands". However, claims such as this are always followed by disclaimers that "these associations have never been scientifically verified." Nevertheless, Kundalini, as a by-prodcut of refined Chakra energy, is part of evolutionary biology, even though its presence — much like the Lymphatic and Endocrine Systems in the past — has not yet been detected by outside observers. Doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, only that it hasn't yet been discovered...except by the millions that have awakened it.
Passing on beneficial phenotypical characteristics through DNA — such as aptness/suitability for Kundalini arousal — is greatly facilitated if the subject is symmetrical.
“Evolutionary psychologists claim that our preference for symmetry can be explained in the context of mate choice because symmetry is an honest indicator of the genetic quality of potential mates. These arguments assume that asymmetry in human faces is fluctuating asymmetry (FA), because this form of asymmetry can be revealing of developmental instability.”
…and also an honest indicator of the subject’s aptness for a successful Kundalini awakening.
Kundalini is a biological actuality, a phenotypical variation that occurs in spite of any environmental influences such as, religion, social status, political affiliation, culture, or education. These influences do not determine an individual's aptness or ability for activating Kundalini. And this is its strength. It's like music. If you're a musician, you can take your music to Japan and successfully integrate with Japanese musicians, even though you don't speak Japanese.
So too with Kundalini; it's trans-national, trans-cultural, and, most important trans-denominational. All of which speaks to the ONEness of life. That we are really intertwined in so many ways, in spite of the self-imposed, man made barriers we erect to separate us.
